Brief introduction of continuous stirring tank reactor (CSTR)

A CSTR is normally used for a homogeneous liquid-phase reaction . It is operated at steady state , in which the feed is continuously added and the products continuously removed . The tank is continuously stirred to maintain a uniform concentration . All content is perfectly mixed . This makes the temperature, concentration , and reaction rate independent of position in the reactor .
